Malware writers today always try to conceal their identities, right? Wrong – even some of today’s profit driven cyber criminals reveal their identities. We are a bit surprised, but here is the story of how a blackhat has revealed his identity and is trying to ‘get compensation’ from Kaspersky for conducting research.
We got enough of real evidence that it's him. There are facts that may exists only if there is a connection with the same blackhat person, whose name is quite known. He was officially employed at some company (not naming it for purpose) where he had to use his real name.
Dear Vitaly, I respect Kaspersky skill to "track down" " blackhats" - however a simple google search reveals : http://www.peterkleissner.com/?p=175 He has the name even in the domain name itself.
