A psychological experiment

I've been thinking a bit about human psychology in the wake of the Fan Check virus scare

  To battle scareware or social engineering I think it is a good move to look at communication and human reaction.
Maybe we can figure out someway to undermine or counter the communication which tries to convince a potential target/perpetrator to act in a certain way ordered by another person. These battle tactics will be even more important when it comes to social engineering, mainly because sometimes no malware at all is involved.
To me the Milgram study shows us that we can only blame human nature and not the person targeted.
