Manipulation of data

The most frequent type of vulnerabilities with this impact are SQL-injection vulnerabilities, where a malicious user or person can manipulate SQL queries.

Description

Some vulnerabilities have been reported in OTRS (Open Ticket Request System), which can be exploited by malicious users to conduct SQL injection attacks.

Unspecified input is not properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.

Successful exploitation allows to read or modify records in the database and gain escalated privileges, but requires agent or customer privileges.

The vulnerabilities are reported in OTRS version 2.1.x through 2.4.6.

Solution

Update to OTRS version 2.1.9, 2.2.9, 2.3.5, or OTRS 2.4.7.
